Learning how to temper chocolate can be daunting experinece for many. However not with the guidance of the chocolatiers at Sisko Chocolate, where we teach you the techniques to successfully temper chocolate in your own home. We will teach you how to troubleshoot the process and understand the science behind tempering in a fun and informative atmosphere. Once you know how to temper and how to work wioth chocolate, your imagination will be your only limitation.
Then the playing begins. te a smooth ganache for the filling, revealing the small tricks that ensure a smooth outcome. You will then coat the filled truffles and decorate with an assortment of toppings. Recipes provided for you to take home.
You will learn many tips for making fine chocolates and soon you will find your family and friends pleading you to make them some:)
Please wear shoes that cover your toes and have good grip. Heels are not recommended.
If you have long hair a hair tie will be required.
Gloves and aprons will be provided for the class. Recipes and tempering notes to take home.
It was interesting to learn about tempering chocolate, testing the chocolate that once set should appear smooth and shinny, if streaky keep stirring to further cool down the chocolate mixture. Respect the melting temperatures and the critical working temperatures. The highlight of the new Chocolate Truffle Making Class was working together, being creative and having fun! :-)
The teacher failed to temper the chocolate. Did not consider that it was a hot day. Did not have the equipment, i.e. a microwave. Used a hotgun and as I said failed to do what we were there to learn. I would have been devastated as a teacher but did not affect her much
This was a fun and informative evening where we learnt an easier way to temper chocolate (that what you see on Masterchef!) and made some delicious ganache and chocolate truffles - they looked so beautiful I gave a few away as pressies! They tasted amazing too.
