Now you've played with alcohol inks it's time to master the medium with this advanced workshop where you'll create a true masterpiece for your wall.
Enjoy 2 hours working on your own bespoke piece that is sure to be a feature in your home.
Alcohol inks are fast-drying, highly pigmented, alcohol-based inks that can be used on any hard, non-porous surface including glass, metal, plastic, ceramic, stone, leather and polymer clay.
Brisbane-based artist Cassie Sandison of Art By Aquarius will build upon the basics you will have learned in our introduction workshop and teach you how to apply them so you can scale them up on a large wall canvas measuring 90 x 60cm. You will learn how to finish your work to protect it for years to come and frame your work ready to hang.
Cassie specialises in creating abstract and functional artworks using alcohol inks and resin. A scientist by trade and creative by nature, Art by Aquarius is the ultimate combination of art and science.
In this workshop we will be using 100% isopropyl alcohol, this class is not suitable for pregnant women and children under 18 years of age.
Alcohol ink can be fumy to work with, we have picked a well-ventilated area to work in and will give you plenty of fresh air breaks, however if you are sensitive to smells we suggest bringing a ventilator.
Alcohol ink doesn’t wash out of clothing. In case you have a spill so I suggest wearing older or darker coloured clothing. Aprons will be provided.
Because of the size of the piece you'll be creating we need to get straight to work and we apologise in advance but we won't have time to cover the basics. Knowledge from the introduction course or similar is assumed.
This class is limited to a maximum of 8 participants.
